I don’t just want to do well. I want to do good. I want to leverage my years of experience to join a team I respect, support a company I believe in, make a contribution I can be proud of, and leave the world a little better when I’m done.
I am a man whose universe revolves around language. From my early interest in coding, to my later pivot to creative writing, to my time as a marketing copywriter, to my current position writing educational content, I have made a career out of my ability to leverage the right language in the right way to engage, inform, and delight.

On the education team, I have been writing a variety of pieces to help Questrade customers become more informed about both our products and general financial wellbeing. We produce content in a variety of media including thought leadership blogs, product support articles, video scripts, and live webinars. Additionally, as a senior member of the team, I have helped mentor and coordinate new hires.
As a copywriter on the marketing team, I started my Questrade career producing marketing content. This mostly involved writing and coordinating multi-leg email marketing campaigns and writing content for the questrade.com website.
After my first small-agency job, I spent several years founding and running Precision Impact, a freelance marketing agency through which I worked as a copywriter, project manager, and digital marketing expert, working closely with designers, printers, social media marketers, and SEO experts.
At the small-town boutique agency located out in Simcoe, Ontario, I wore most content-related hats, including copywriter, CMS trainer, AdWords-certified SEM, SEO expert, social media advisor, plus project management, campaign planning, site-mapping, as well as limited tech support, media buying, and account services.
Completed the one-year post-graduate certification from Humber College, to pivot my skill set away from the struggling publishing industry and towards the more practical world of marketing. Cemented my skills with an internship at Collectivity, where I worked on brochure and website material for Chevrolet and GMC accounts.
Started my academic career spending two years at UNBC as an English major, transferring to the University of Windsor to join their creative writing program. Worked for Black Moss Press through a work-study program, and intended to get into print publishing.
As a content writer in the fintech sector, I stay on the bleeding edge of emerging AI technologies. Additionally, I am very comfortable with writing and web-publishing technologies and standards, and have a passing familiarity with ancillary technologies such as Figma, Adobe Suite, and Zoom Webinars.

As a part of a year-end education blitz, I was tasked with writing a video script that breaks down this advanced concept for the average investor.
To make the video as digestible as possible, I made use of the medium with call-outs, cut-aways, and animated graphics, and made sure that the accompanying article builds off of the framework of the video, going into more detail and covering more examples.
I also worked closely with the legal, compliance, product, and trade desk teams to make sure that the video is both comprehensive and meets the standards of the Canadian Investment Regulatory Office (CIRO).

The rollout of the First-Home Savings Account (FHSA) was a challenge. Last-minute amendments had our competitors scrambling to figure out how it worked, and the extremely short timeline made it a massive crunch to get all of the product launch support up in time for the April 1st start of Canada’s FHSA program.
By being proactive and working very closely with the legal and compliance teams, we were able to follow the bill through its changes and create a comprehensive resource that let you learn all the ins and outs of this new account type, sign up for a waiting list, and participate in the FHSA program on launch date.
As a result, we were the first brokerage to provide FHSA accounts to our customers, with our competitors lagging months behind.

Ethical investing is a topic that is very close to my heart—not only because one of the first products I worked on was the QuestWealth Socially Responsible Investing portfolios, but because I genuinely believe that peace of mind is something we often overlook when it comes to money.
This thinkpiece takes a look at the various shapes that ethical investing takes, and assesses the pros and cons of each approach.
